During construction coordination, we monitor the progress of construction and
insure that all elements of the plans created in earlier phases are implemented
as specified. We begin with the evaluation of bids from cabling contractors and
to assist your IT staff with the selection of a cabling contractor. We then supervise
the installation of cabling and conduit systems and the construction of the computer/equipment
rooms.
Phase typically includes:
- Evaluation of bid responses from cabling contractors to provide equal line-by-line comparison spreadsheet between contractors.
- Revisions of cabling/conduit plans to bring into phase with changes in Architect's plans.
- Meetings with contractors and review of changes to construction documentation to accommodate field conditions which prevent installation as designed.
- Inspection of conduit installation to insure materials and placement will not impede cable routing.
- Periodic inspections to monitor progress and quality of cabling installation.
- Coordination with electricians, cabling contractors, and general contractor for placement of wiring racks, backboards, termination fields and ladder racks inside of computer rooms and wiring closets.
- Inspection of computer rooms and wiring closets during construction to verify compliance with all elements of CAD drawings and cabling RFQ.
- Coordination with telephone vendor and cabling vendor to assure all systems are installed as needed and left in move-in condition.
- Detailed analysis of cabling certification tests provided by cabling contractors following cabling installation. Direction for re-installation and re-testing on cabling runs which do not meet certification requirements.
